Research Engineer & Designer
I am a soon-to-be PhD graduate in Computer Science from Columbia University with a background in human-computer interaction. I specialize in both research & engineering, using rapid prototyping and user testing to design and build impactful products. My interests generally lie in UI/UX design, system design & development (especially AI-driven), accessibility, audio interfaces, and visualization.
My PhD work focused on designing, building, and studying interactive systems to grant users a greater sense of agency over their experiences with computers. Many of my projects have involved building accessibility tools across a wide array of contexts — including video games, digital images, indoor navigation, and virtual meetings.
My technical experience includes using technologies like the Unity game engine, Python, and web frameworks to rapidly prototype and deploy solutions across cloud, desktop, and mobile platforms. My past projects have also involved regularly engaging users through interviews and co-design, conducting numerous user study sessions with my prototypes, and analyzing logs and interview data from these sessions. I am the lead inventor on a pending patent, which I am also preparing for release as an Unreal Engine plugin. My journey has included an internship at Microsoft Research, a stint in the startup world, and sharing my work through writeups & talks for both technical and non-technical audiences.
I am currently seeking industry job opportunities, and I am open to exploring opportunities at startups and established companies alike. Feel free to reach out (via email or LinkedIn) if you know of any roles that might be a good fit!
